Eric Berne’s Transactional Analysis: NCE & CPCE Study Guide

January 8, 2024

In the category of Helping Relationships on the National Counselor Examination (NCE), the Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE), or another counseling exam, you may come across the topic of Transactional Analysis, a form of therapy developed by Eric Berne.

Overall, this video is a brief explainer of Transactional Analysis. Specifically, we will cover the three ego states: the Parent Ego State, the Child Ego State, and the Adult Ego State. We will also cover the “okays” of Transactional Analysis—I am OK, you are OK; I am not OK, you are OK, and so on.
